Mike was born and raised in Beaumont, Texas. He attended Lamar University, from which he graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He obtained his law degree from South Texas College of Law, was licensed as an attorney in 1983, and has continuously been engaged in the practice of law since that time. During the more than four decades in which he has been an attorney, Mike has “first chaired” over two hundred trials in cases involving personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, premises liability, automobile and trucking accidents, and construction cases, to name a few. His greatest asset as a mediator is that he knows what it is to be a trial lawyer. He is well familiar with the work, the stress, the passion and emotional capital that is involved with trial work. He brings that knowledge and experience to the mediation table. He, like all trial lawyers, wants to “win”. As a mediator, a “win” is a resolved case.

A full day session is for eight hours but will continue as long as the parties agree progress is being made toward a settlement.
A half-day session is four hours.
If the mediation extends past the scheduled number of hours, an hourly rate will be charged and split between the total number of parties.
Mediation sessions can be conducted in person, by Zoom, by phone, or a combination of the above.
We understand situations arise where a quick mediation is needed prior to a hearing or trial, or a mediation is needed after hours or on weekends.
Efforts will be made to work with all parties to schedule a mediation session to meet the needs of the dispute in question.
